What is NODA and NxtMedia?
The Nordic Data Journalism (NODA) Conference - is a non profit conference focused on bringing news and research about data driven journalism and digital storytelling to journalists, designers, editors and developers in news rooms of the Nordic countries and beyond, and to media researchers and students. Our goal is to bring people together, learning new tools, discussing methods, research and ethics of journalism in the digital age and digital storytelling.
15th of November 2019 the NODA conference will be held in Trondheim, Norway where journalists, editors, data vizualisers, researchers and students touch down for days jam packed with the latest in data journalism.
NODA is a subsidiary of the NxtMedia Network of Norway. The Steering comitee of NODA is chaired by editor Einar Haalien of Schibsted, Norway, head of school Ester Appelgren of Sødertørn University, Sweden, docent Carl-Gustav Lindén, University of Helsinki and head of editorial development Gerd May, Jysk-Fynske Medier, Denmark and commitee secretary Rolf Dyrnes Svendsen, NxtMedia, Norway.
NxtMedia is a national network for technology-driven media innovation with its headquarters in Trondheim, Norway. NxtMedia organizes conferences, network meetings, develops and facilitates projects. NxtMedia works closely with Nordic and international media organizations and networks.
NxtMedia is a industry cluster for technology-based media innovation and will stimulate increased innovation in the media industry through events, knowledge sharing, networking and initiatives for project development across companies, industries, knowledge disciplines and national borders
NxtMedia is organized as a non-profit association for partners and members, founded in 2012.

NxtMedia's main partners are the Norwegian Media Business Association (MBL), the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), the Norwegian National Broadcasting Corporation (NRK), Adresseavisen and Trønder-Avisa. The association has about 50 members and stakeholders related to the activities in NxtMedia, including collaboration with the universities iNord and Oslo Met, as well as Volda University College.

NxtMedia's main activities are the meeting places NxtmediaConference, the Nordic data journalist conference NODA, the women-oriented technology conference DigIT, responsible for the networks XR Norway and Sport Tech Norway, the Big Data symposium NOBIDS (with NTNU) and various academic events.
